Collector's Video, Subtitles, and Tales of Voodoo!

Two things brought about this most recent article. First, a e-mail from VSoM (more later if you don't know who they are). Second, a sighting at BB of a box set of the 5 Tales of Voodoo DVDs. DVDs that I've heard nothing but terrible things about. We're talking DVDs reported to have VHS glitches, and not just tracking issues, but moments where the video goes to blue screen! Never one to let the opportunity for a good rant go to waste I set to typing.... -

Sometimes it's nice take a break and read reviews someone else has written. It's also rather amusing.
The first reviews of Severin's DVD(s) are starting to appear. BEAST IN SPACE has been unleashed onto the public and reviewers and critics are beginning to put words to what they've seen. (Which is making for interesting reading.) It's no great secret that Alfonso Brescia's space opera's aren't so much an acquired taste as something you just learn to get... -

Hollywood. Remake capital of the world. Never shall a original script or screen play be left unflogged. Yet, with an ample supply of movies and scripts to reuse, they seem rather myopic in which they choose. They are Godzilla, fierce and unstoppable with goals we mere humans fail to comprehend. Especially with television series. How easy it is to take a show slap it's title on a re-envisioned adaptation, remold it for the big screen, flog it with hype and. . .
But who decides which...
